HITCHIN MATCH REPORT
Last Thursday, SAFC hosted our final 3C match of the season, against one of the leading teams over the past few years… Hitchin.
They didn’t hold back either, bringing a full squad of 6 strong fencers, looking to inflict some more 9-0 clean sheets! SAFC wouldn’t let that happen though. Our foilists of James B, JD & Rachel held Hitchin to a respectable 3-6 loss. On epee it was an extremely close affair, with a couple of bouts going down to one hit. We had slow start losing a flurry of bouts early on, but once SAFC fencers warmed up we started to fight back! Sadly the final scoreline tipped in Hitchin’s favour with a 5-4 win for them. Great bouts and a fun evening, and Bonnie’s first 3C appearance!
Final score SAFC 7-11 Hitchin (with a bonus point for SAFC)
3C end of year round up to come in December.

Massive congratulation to Lindsay who won GOLD with Team GBR Epee at the Vets World Championship in Bahrain, beating USA in an incredibly close and tense final that went down to a priority minute! Incredible achievement, well done!!
Also in Bahrain, congratulations to Lisa who finished 20th in Vet-60 Women’s Foil
