THURS. 08/06: SMALL GYM THIS WEEKÂ
They know it’s Thursday!! Happy Thursday, Fencers. Get your gear on.
We’re back in the small gym again this Thursday due to school exams in the main hall.
Don’t forget to SIGN IN for each session. Numbers are limited in the small gym so please do not turn up without having already booked a place; we don’t want to turn anyone away.
We’ll run 4 short pistes to maximise use of the space; in order to help things run smoothly please note the following:
- No group warm up: fencers are responsible for their own warm up.
- No individual lessons: just free sparring
- Be aware of others around you, when on the piste and also when not.
- Please help by keeping kit bags to either end of the gym.
CLUB LADDER LEAGUE
A reminder that it’s the last month of the Club Ladder League so only a few weeks left to get those matches in before it closes at the end of June.
NEW BF TRIAL RANKING & COMPETITION @ FCL ON 24/06
British Fencing (BF) are trialling a new ranking system for UK fencers. Initially for Foil only, if successful BF plan to roll it out to all weapons. Details HERE
In conjunction with this pilot, Fencers Club London (FCL) have been in touch with us:
FCL has just agreed to run a D/E /U ratings event on 24th June at the very civilized time of 1pm, and I would be very grateful if you could encourage your 13+ and adult intermediate and novice fencers to consider entering. Fencers can enter the Open in the morning and the D/E/U event in the afternoon if they are eligible. Entry is through Sports80 as usual. Â
For those not familiar with FCL, they fence in the same venue as Watford FC at Nuffield Health Sports Centre at Royal Masonic School for Girls, Chorleywood Road, Rickmansworth WD3 4HF.
So very close by! Let’s get some SAFC fencers in there!!!
