ER SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS 2026 & GB CUP QUALIFIER:
Last weekend was the ER Senior Championship, and as usual a great turnout by SAFC fencers, present and past. And some great results were had.
Women’s Foil
Unfortunately Bita and Leigh faced each other in the first DE. In a close match Bita won 15-12. Leigh finished 5th overall and Bita went on to finish joint 3rd!
Men’s Foil
A similar story unfortunately with Dan and Giles facing off in their first DE, both having gained a bye in the previous round.  Daniel won 15-9 and went on to finish 6th overall, with Giles 21st.
Women’s Epee
Bonnie smashed it in the poules, winning every bout, and going on to finish 2nd overall. Fantastic!
Men’s Epee
John had a tough poule with only one win, which put him on the back foot. He won his first DE 15-14, only to then go out in the next round to the top seed and eventual winner.  Final position 15th, against tough opposition.
Ex-SAFC’ers Richard R and Richard B deserve a mention for finishing 5th & 11th, respectively.
Well done all, some very respectable results there!
