LUTON AWAY: MATCH REPORT

Team SAFC from L to R: David (c), Rachel, Kamal, JD, James B, James L

Cap’n David writes:

Arriving in Luton Tuesday, possibly less well armed than the locals, we arrived at their new premises. Starting with the foil, it went well, both JD and James B winning all 3 and Rachel only dropping one match. The Epee only needed 2 matches to take the evening, surely an easy task.

Losing 3 out of the first 4 it started to look more of a challenge, but Kamal was solid winning all 3 of his including 1 in priority.  I managed to win 1 of mine meaning it was 4-4 going into the final match. It was down to James L, up to that point he had not been on top form, but he got ahead and held on for the win.

Victory in both weapons! Thanks team!

Final score  LUTON 5 – 13 SAFC

And thanks to Luton for being great hosts as usual and a really friendly, fun & competitive match.
