30.10.25: *Important* Parking & Access Tonight

TONIGHT 30.10

We’re back in the main sports hall and Coach Laura will be taking the group warm up and individual lessons.

There are some changes to parking and access we need you to be aware of.

The school has been putting up a new barrier / gates across the road which leads to our usual car park.  It was planned that this would be open by tonight but the school have advised it will not be.

Please see this plan showing where to park tonight, and the access route to the hall.  The school have also advised there are two dancing events on this evening so they expect the site to be very busy.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL

  1. If you can walk to school, then please do. Parking off site would also be preferable.
  2. Car share if possible to keep parking to a minimum
  3. ONLY park in the bays provided and once these are full, you will need to park offsite and walk to school. Do not abandon any cars on the grass verges or pavements. Your activity may be stopped if we need to find the person to remove their car and we hope to avoid as much conflict as possible.
  4. If parking is an issue and people are abandoning their cars everywhere, I will instruct Lee (who is on tonight) to close the front gate so that no further access can be made other than through the pedestrian gate.

CLUB WHATSAPP GROUP

The Club has a WhatsApp group, which is great for chat about all things fencing and a really handy way to know what’s going on in the club.

If you’d like to join please speak to Bryant or any of the committee

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU!

The best fencing club in the whole universe (well, Hertfordshire at least) does not happen by accident.

It only happens with the help and input from the various members of the Committee.  And the club need your help to with the following position:

  • CLUB CAPTAIN

Richard R is hanging up the Captain’s armband at the end of 2025.

The Club extends its thanks to RR for his work on the 3C league and getting the Club Ladder up and running and in the fine shape it now is! <more applause>

Can anyone step into his Kempa shoes and take over the running of the Three Counties League, and the Club Ladder (though that pretty much runs itself)
