19.02.26: Tonight’s Fencing & Next Week / AGM Update / ER Seniors

TONIGHT:
Fencing is ON tonight, even though it’s half term week.
Beginners:  Coach Andy is going to get you going on the electric piste!
Please note, next Thursday’s session (26th Feb) will be in the small gym, as the main sportshall is not available due to a school event.
That means, no beginner course (sorry!) and no group warm up or lessons – just free sparring.
But it’s only for that one Thursday – we’re back to normal again on Thurs. 5th March.

The club has contacted Eastern Region (ER) about the level of BF membership required: some of you may remember that year, ‘Compete’ level membership was initially the required level, but very close to the event, this was reduced to ‘recreational’ level to encourage entries.  ER said the following:

‘We have already flagged this up with BF and they have not responded yet.
We advise to go with last year’s guidelines which was regional qualifier ok as a recreational membership, but that if they qualified for the championships then they would be required to upgrade to Compete’

See you on the piste later… En Garde!  SAFC
