16.07.26: Fencing Tonight / Beginner Course Date Change / Open Air ’26 / Club Merch / BF Coaching

FENCING TONIGHT 16.07

You will be pleased to know we’re back in the main sports hall tonight, and from now on all the way through the summer.  So that means normal service can be resumed, with a group warm-up / footwork session to start and individual coaching lessons available.

After the record high temperatures of the last few weeks, tonight is a bit cooler, but it’s still unusually warm for this time of year.  Please stay hydrated and take plenty of breaks.

BEGINNER COURSE: DATE CHANGE

Our next Beginner Course was due to start on Thurs. 23.07

This has now been pushed back until after the summer.  It will now start on Thurs. 24.09

If you have already booked a place, we can transfer that to the new date, or offer a refund – please let us know.  Apologies for any inconvenience.

BF: COACHING

The club has received the following communication from BF:

We would be grateful if you could share the following opportunities with your members who may be interested in further developing their coaching skills.

For the first time, we are pleased to offer a residential package alongside our upcoming coaching courses. These provide an excellent opportunity for coaches to focus on their development in a supportive, immersive environment.
Upcoming courses include:

Level 2 and Level 3 courses at PGL Caythorpe, Grantham – October 2026
Level 2 course at the Pioneer Centre, Kidderminster – March 2027

Both venues offer on-site accommodation and catering packages. Payment for the accommodation package can be deferred until six weeks prior to the course.

The PGL Caythorpe option can also be combined with a family holiday, offering additional flexibility for those balancing personal commitments.
